Good news for die-hard fans of AMC's original series The Walking Dead. Microsoft has unveiled its October free games for Xbox Live with Gold membership.

The free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers include two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games available for download. For Xbox One users, they can download The Walking Dead video game, for one month from October 16 up to November 15, said Forbes. The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season video game is based on the hit TV series about zombie apocalypse

Also available for free download is the puzzle adventure game Valiant Hearts: The Great War for Xbox One. According to Comingsoon.net, members of the Xbox Live Gold can avail of Valiant Hearts for the whole month this October.

However, gamers who are not Xbox Live Gold subscribers can still download Valiant Hearts: The Great War for $14.99, while the The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season is available to non-members at $24.99. The games will be available from October 16th to November 15th.

Users of Xbox 360 console will be able to download espionage simulator Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes from October 1 to October 15. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, is an action-adventure stealth game that is available from October 1 through 15.

Tech giant Microsoft and Japanese firm Sony both announce free downloadable video games every month exclusively to Xbox Live Gold subscribers and PlayStation Plus members.

Forbes said, "Valiant Hearts is a really different little Ubisoft title, mixing 2.5D puzzling with a real sense of sadness over the horrors of WWII. The art style is really terrific, but this isn't a traditional war game."

For The Walking Dead, the video game is described more as an interactive move than a traditional video game because it forces players to make tough decisions at a very limited amount of time. The game is touted to present a significant parallel universe to both the comics and the hit TV series.

The report added, "Ground Zeroes is the fairly short prequel to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. If the relative shortness of the game turned you off from buying it at release, the price-tag now should convince you to download. It's a tiny affair compared to The Phantom Pain but it's still top-notch gameplay. Not sure how it performs on Xbox 360 but it was lovely on PC."

Xbox Live Gold is your ticket to the most exciting social entertainment network in the world on Xbox One and Xbox 360. It's powered by over 300,000 servers for maximum speed and performance, and is cloud hosted to help eliminate lag and cheating. And with the most advanced multiplayer, Games with Gold, and Deals with Gold, Xbox Live Gold is better than ever.
