3-Year-Old Boy Killed in Arkansas Road Rage Shooting

A reward of $20,000 will be given by Crime Stoppers for those who can offer information about the suspect who killed a 3-year-old boy in a road rage shooting at Arkansas.

According to Little Rock Police Department the boy, Acen King, was with his grandmother, Kim King Macon, and another infant sibling for a shopping trip on a Saturday evening. The grandmother was parked at a stop sign in South-West Little Rock when a black Chevrolet Impala pulled back behind her car and honked at them.

The 47-year-old grandmother honked back at the man. The man exited the car and fired a shot at them. Macon drove to JC Penny shopping center where she learned that Acen was shot. She then called the police which arrived at 6 pm, according to Daily Mail. Acen was brought to the Arkansas Children Hospital where he later died. The grandmother and the infant sibling survived the attack and were not hit.

According to the police, the gunman and the victims has no relation with each other. Police Lt. Steve Mc Clanahan stated that the boy and the grandmother 'were completely innocent.' The suspect fled the scene and remains to be unidentified. 

According to the Guardian, Police Chief Kenton Buckner sated that the road rage killings cause extreme grievance for the police and the community especially because the victims of the crimes involved "very innocent" children who "can do very little to protect themselves. 

Another road rage incident that happened in Little Rock last month, a 2-year-old girl was killed in a road rage incident. A driver of a passing vehicle fired shots at the car of the girl and her mother which ultimately killed the child, according to ABC News. Police Chief Buckner stated that he was unsure if the two incidents were related.

"We cannot have a community where the least protected among us, being infants, are dying these senseless crimes in our city," Buckner said.

These road rage incidents stacked up to the list of the growing number of high- profile cases that are happening recently.

In, New Orleans, Cardell Hayes was found guilty of manslaughter last week for shooting former New Orleans Saints player Will Smith in a road rage incident. Smith was found dead on his Mercedes SUV's driver seat. Former New York Jets player Joe McKnight was also shot to death in a road rage incident.
