Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of singers Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, is planning on going home for her recovery. Brown was found unconscious and face down in her bathtub last January, and it is possible that she might not ever recover. Both sides of the Brown and Houston families might be planning to take her off life support and say a final goodbye, and then there could be an intense legal battle over her inheritance.
The Franchise Herald reports that Pat Houston and husband have been cleaning Bobbi's suburban home, the one she shared with boyfriend Nick Gordon. Extra TV has stated that the family wanted Bobbi out of the hospital setting and has quoted the family in saying: "That was her home and her mom's home, and if they can bring her back it would be great. If she's alive, let her be home and surrounded by beautiful photos of her mom. It's as good as it gets in such a bad situation."
There have been numerous reports that Bobbi Kristina Brown is being moved to her suburban home so that all the family can "say goodbye" before taking her off life support. This certainly raises a lot of medical and ethical issues, and some of these reports could have stemmed from a recent quote from Bobbi Kristina Brown's grandmother Cissy Houston when she said: "She's not gone yet, but you know, whatever the Lord decides, I'm ready for her. ... I have nothing to do with that. That's His job. It's his territory, you know? And I understand it.''
If Bobbi Kristina Brown is being bought home for that purpose, it will be great tragedy. Unfortunately, it will begin another chapter of an intense legal drama as Bobbi Kristina's death will mean that Pat and Cissy will receive the $20 million from Whitney Houston's estate, according to the Inquisitr.
Some have said that it is possible for Bobbi Kristina Brown to live on indefinitely. For example, Enstarz reports that Dr. Mark Liker, a Medical Director and Neurosurgeon at Dignity Health Nothridge hospital, came forward with his thoughts about Bobbi Kristina's health. It should be noted that he has not personally treated Bobbi Kristina herself.
Dr. Liker has stated that Bobbi Kristina requires physical therapy on a regular basis, moving her arms and legs so her limbs do not go into permanent contraction. He also stated that they [doctors assigned to Bobbi Kristina] will keep trying to get some sort of response from her with "frequent impulses for the leg to the brain". This type of treatment could improve Bobbi Kristina's ability to function and lead to a speedier recovery, provided there are not any blood clots or infections.
International Business Times also quotes Dr. Liker as saying that "I'm sure that the facility is doing the best that they can in terms of rehabilitation and ways to help her," but also adds that patients such as Bobbi Kristina have the potential to remain in a rehabilitation facility "essentially forever".
I would imagine that Bobbi Kristina Brown being brought home and taken off life support requires an approval process. Chances are, we will need to hear about it, and we'll probably be hearing about the fate of the Whitney Houston family estate as well.
