The beginning of DC's Legends of Tomorrow was pretty big, and the show was reported to have such a big budget that it might not be able to afford a second season. The show recently went on hiatus after Episode 8 "Night of the Hawk", but it just came back on Thursday night with "Left Behind". It does leave viewers wondering where the show is going toward its Season 1 Finale, and what can be told for Season 2.
"Left Behind" had Kendra (Ciara Renee), Ray (Brandon Routh), and Sara (Caity Lotz) stranded in the 1950s after the Waverider left without them. This left three characters stranded in the 1950s, and the Atom and Kendra start to develop their relationship. Kendra is getting a resurgence of memories from Kendra's past lives with Carter Hall (Falk Hentschel).
According to Variety, DC's Legends of Tomorrow is going to have seven more episodes in an uninterrupted run. So what is going to happen in those episodes? Well, it looks like Kendra is going to start to remember more of her past lives with Carter.
There is one definite thing that will happen on the finale, as it has been announced on Entertainment Weekly that Patrick J. Adams will play Alan Scott. If you are not familiar with Alan Scott, he was the original Green Lantern from the forties, who had powers that were stemmed in mysticism rather than the cosmic power battery that came from the Silver Age Green Lantern Hal Jordan.
The Alan Scott Green Lantern was part of the Justice Society of America (JSA), and this is a team that pre-dates the Justice League in the DC comic universe. Of course, DC tends to change their universe every once in a while, and so the JSA could be something different now, especially in this Arrow-verse established in the past four years. However, DC has promised that the JSA will appear more on Legends of Tomorrow.
As far as any other spoilers are concerned, Episode 10 "Progency" is about how the team is divided over killing a 14-year-old boy who will grow up to be a power ally for Vandal Savage. Episode 11 or "The Magnificent Eight" has the group traveling to the Old West, where they meet Jonah Hex. Yes, it is the same Jonah Hex character that has his own movie back in 2010, but will hopefully have a time with a performance with Johnathon Schaech. In this case, this Jonah Hex actually knows about time travel, so he will be helping them out along the way for sure.
But the big question, of what all this is leading up to, won't be answered until the finale airs on May 19, 2016. There is apparently a Season 2 planned, as imdb reports that Episode 1 will air on October 27, 2016. Digital Spy reports that the show could have an entirely different cast, but since this is the DC Universe, developed over decades, just about anything can happen.
