The first trailer of "House of Cards" Season 4 has been released. Included in the trailer is the start date for the widely anticipated Netflix Originals series.

The teaser, released during a break on the CNN coverage of the GOP debate, showed a mock political ad featuring Presidential Frank Underwood. 

The 30-second video also showed a parody of political ads, clips of construction workers building a house, warplanes launching, as well as children playing in a field where American flags are raised and flapping. 

The teaser might be short, but it was able to channel the dark humor that the series is well known for. A lot of this can be attributed to Kevin Spacey's delivery of Underwood's voiceover. "It's a new day in America. Today, more people will go to work, return home to their families, and sleep more soundly than ever before," Spacey said. 

A fake campaign site for Underwood's race for the second presidential term has also been launched, including a media kit with a decal that reads "FU 2016." 

The official date for the new season is on March 4, 2016. As with all other Netflix Originals, all episodes for this season will be dropping on the same day. Those who cannot resist will certainly engage in a video marathon that day.

Even before the teaser has been released, major speculations on the plot have already been circling. For one, Yibada reported that Frank and Claire may reunite. 

Another rumor is that Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) might be killed off in this new season. Speaking with Los Angeles Times, Kelly himself was not able to erase speculations that this could happen. If the decision is left to him, however, Kelly would not want his character to die, since he really likes playing him. 

"I don't know, man, I don't want him to. This is the greatest job I've ever had, Doug Stamper is the greatest gift I have ever been given as an actor. I love playing him, I love going to work every day, here we are in season 4, and I love going to work just as much as I did first day of season 1 and that says a lot," Kelly said. 

Deadline also reported that Colm Feore from "The Borgias" would book a recurring role in this fourth season. Feore is anticipated to play an important and high-profile character in this intriguing White House drama. Deadline also reported early on that Neve Campbell would be joining the cast of "House of Cards" in this new season as a regular. The role she would play, however, remain a mystery.
