It was announced last September that Kate Middleton and husband Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, are expecting their second baby. What you might not know is that friends are saying that it will be a baby girl. That is the news from Life & Style magazine's November 24th issue.

According to the Source, Queen Elizabeth II "loves the idea of Kate and William having a boy and a girl". So does this mean that Kate and William are preparing a nursery in pink? The answer to that question would be "no", as a royal insider claims that Kate is not interested in the traditional colors for a girl's room. Instead, she will go with "neutral palettes like creams and beiges".

On Thursday, November 13, Kate showed up in a black lace Diane von Furstenberg gown that put a spotlight on her baby bump. This was for the Royal Variety Performance in support of the Entertainment Artists' Benevolent Fund at the Palladium Theatre in London. It was here that Kate got to meet the stars of One Direction. Liam Payne admitted that he was quite nervous, and Louis Tomlinson simply admitted that he just flatly introduced himself. It was Harry Styles who said "congratulations on the bump", even though he admitted "she didn't look bumpy".

Prince William got to meet all of the One Direction boys, and told them that he had been "keeping a close eye on their career". It is good to see that even Prince William is not immune to the success of One Direction.

This is not the first time Kate Middleton has donned a formal evening look during her second pregnancy, as she wore a pale blue Jenny Packam gown to the 50th Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition at the Natural History Museum in London. This was just after it was announced that she was "out of the house" after suffering with Hyperemisis Gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.

The official due date for Prince George's sibling is scheduled to take place in April of 2015. Considering that due date, it might not be even possible to determine the baby's gender in mid-November as generally a mid-pregnancy ultrasound can identify whether the fetus is a boy or girl in between 16 and 20 weeks. In other words, it might be a while before we get official confirmation on the baby's gender, this is assuming that Kate Middelton and Prince William even want to allow the public to know the baby's gender before the birth.
