Now that the LG G4 has been announced, it was only a matter of time before it rolled out on carriers in the United States as well as the rest of the world. This has left many wondering when is the LG G4 Release Date, as applied to certain carriers. In the midst of this, users of the LG G2 and LG G3, who were denied the Android L (also known as Android 5.0 or Lollipop) for such a long time are finally getting it, even though they might have to wait again for Android 5.1.
The LG G4 is having a world tour right now, according to the International Business Times. The first places to receive it began in Seoul on May 18th, and then rolled out to Hong Kong, Turkey, Russia, and Singapore. The plan is to roll it out to most places in Europe, along with North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Central America with 180 service providers and a huge number of retailers.
As for when it arrives in the United States, the plan is that T-Mobile will be selling the LG G4 on June 2nd. Phone Arena reports that Verizon Wireless will have the G4 available on June 4th. As for Sprint and U.S. Cellular, look for the LG G4 in the coming months.
The LG G4 has a carbon-like front and a leather back, with the leather is something of a new look for smartphones. The G4 has a 5.5 inch Quantum Display LCD display, possibly QHD resolution, not to mention a battery of 3,000 mAh and microSD slot. Then there is the 16 Megapixel camera, which is a f/1.8 camera with an infrared color accuracy sensor.
By the way, the LG G4 has Lollipop right out of the box, but what about Lollipop on its predecessors, the LG G3 and the LG G2? Well, you really should already have it by now if you are in the United States. A report from Gotta Be Mobile at the end of April reveals that the LG G2 Lollipop update wrapped up. In fact, we just reported not more than a few days ago that the LG G3 and G2 Lollipop update is already available at Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
The issue is when LG will push out the latest version of Android with version 5.1, and there is still no word. Hopefully, they can get it out soon, because a lot of LG G2 and G3 customers are complaining about problems with the upgrade. Sprint customers are complaining about having random Wi-Fi disconnection issues, and there are other problems with the battery and slow charging. It is hoped that Android 5.1 will fix those bugs, but G3 and G2 users will have to wait and see.
