The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking at a future that may not have JR Smith in the roster to help in time for massive games against the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs. Despite the improved plays from LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, the absence of the former New York Knicks star still poses risks for the team. With this in mind, a Rudy Gay trade is anticipated to be executed soon.

The Sacramento Kings and the small forward have been open of their desire to eventually part ways. While a Rudy Gay trade has been in the radar of a lot of NBA teams since last season, reports indicate that the star wants to be signed to a team that could be contenders in the league. In fact, speculations indicate that the Sacramento Kings star is willing to take lower pay just to be traded to a more stable and efficient basketball team.

Rumors are rife that the Cleveland Cavaliers are pressing the Sacramento Kings to release Rudy Gay within this season. At the latest, the LeBron James squad wants the small forward in their team by the playoffs. However, it looks like the DeMarcus Cousins team is looking for a huge payout. At the moment though, no official comment has been released by the parties involved in this NBA trade rumor.

In the meantime, it looks like the Cleveland Cavaliers are forgiving of the JR Smith problems in the hardwood court. For head coach Ty Lue, the small forward deserves a chance to redeem himself after his embarrassing behavior in the game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

"Me and J.R. talked about it," shared Ty Lue about the matter. He added, "We're just going to move forward. We had a discussion about it, he felt embarrassed about it, it was an embarrassing play. We talked about it. We're moving on."

The possibility of seeing a Rudy Gay trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers has fans excited for this season. If the Sacramento Kings star joins forces with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, then JR Smith might be sidelined for the games. However, the recent antics and injury of the former New York Knicks star had some supporters wary of his commitment to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
