The Golden State Warriors are on fire this NBA season with back to back achievements ranging from topping the Western Conference despite the surging San Antonio Spurs and breaking the 72-win record of the Chicago Bulls under the Michael Jordan era. At this point, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are all considered hot properties in the league. Aside from the leaders of the Golden State Warriors roster, the coaching staff headed by Steve Kerr and Luke Walton also received some media attention. With the winner mentality active among the champions, can a loser team lure one of them out?

The New York Knicks have been struggling to keep their heads up in the past NBA seasons. Despite a superstar on the roster, Carmelo Anthony, the Kristaps Porzingis team cannot compete with the rest of the league. Finishing way below the Golden State Warriors, the New York Knicks are now looking for ways to end their NBA playoffs 2016 drought. Unsurprisingly, Luke Walton is under their radar for a potential head coach position. It appears, however, that the Golden State Warriors assistant head coach is not too keen on the idea of leaving a winning team for one plagued with troubles.

"I tell him, 'Money can't buy what you have,'" shared Bill Walton of his advice to son Luke. The elder Walton added, "Head-coaching jobs, they're open for a reason. Those reasons don't exist in Golden State."

Despite their troubles, big money can still be made in the New York Knicks simply because of the organization's prestige and location. Hence, Walton is set to earn considerably more if he decides to abandon the Stephen Curry squad and sign with the New York team.

Although he is not as direct as his father in refusing the New York Knicks job, Walton practically echoed his old man's sentiments. The Golden State Warriors assistant head coach noted that time is of the essence for the widely coveted job. However, the success of the Klay Thompson squad is too precious to gamble on for Walton. In his comments, he admitted that his current post works well for him and he "loves" his job at the moment.

"Honestly, my mindset is mainly with these playoffs that we're in right now," shared Walton when asked of the New York Knicks post. "I know the way this works. You can't just tell everybody I'm not going to interview anywhere until the end of the playoffs because most coaches have hired by then. So I'm very comfortable, and I love where I'm at right now."
