The Los Angeles Clippers are looking into adding a young talent in their roster. While DeAndre Jordan and Paul Pierce are remarkable basketball stars in their own rights, the team needs fresh faces as they evolve into a better team. Hence, a Karl-Anthony Towns trade to the Los Angeles Clippers is one of the most talked about possibility by the NBA team. To lure the Minnesota Timberwolves star in their roster, the Doc Rivers squad is said to be targeting a Blake Griffin trade to clear up cap space and give Towns a massive offer.

The 2015-16 NBA Rookie of the Year is projected to have a better second year in the league. With Zach LaVine, Andrew Wiggins and Ricky Rubio playing alongside him, the Minnesota Timberwolves present an exciting roster. Moreover, the addition of former Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau as the new mentor for the group makes the Kevin Garnett squad a promising team.

However, the entry of Kris Dunn in the roster makes the Minnesota Timberwolves fans question the direction of the team. Initially, the team appeared to be clear on their intention to build a group around Karl-Anthony Towns. However, the signing of Kris Dunn and the subsequent fanfare over his entry in the group made it apparent that the Minnesota Timberwolves might be taking a different approach in their roster building process.

Hence, a number of fans believe that a Karl-Anthony Towns trade might be in the works. Given the NBA All-Star accomplishment of the center as well as his stats in the past NBA season, the Minnesota Timberwolves could definitely expect him to become a valuable trading chip. If rumors are to be believed, then the Los Angeles Clippers are said to be the first in line to sign the young star.

To make this possible, the Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly pursuing a Blake Griffin trade in an effort to improve the cap space situation of the team. While they missed out on the free agency campaign to land Kevin Durant despite the closeness of the Oklahoma City Thunder star to DeAndre Jordan, the Paul Pierce team is hopeful that the fight to sing the Minnesota Timberwolves player will be easier.

It depends. At the moment, the Los Angeles Clippers are ensuring fans that a Blake Griffin trade will not happen anytime soon. According to Doc Rivers, the DeAndre Jordan team has no intention of parting with any of the members of its core.

"We are hoping that Blake ends his career playing for the Clippers. Period," said Doc Rivers of the Blake Griffin trade rumors. He added, "No team is calling right now because teams know we don't have any interest. It just tells you the different times. Things have changed. Everyone believes that they're the media now. There are so many good, credible guys, and then there's some of the guys who are bloggers who have nothing to do with the sport."
