NBA Rumors: New York Knicks Affirm Blake Griffin trade; Carmelo Anthony, Kristaps Porzingis Welcome Big Man

The New York Knicks are looking into bulking up their roster to finally land a spot in the NBA playoffs next season. With the Carmelo Anthony team successfully recruiting Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah from the Chicago Bulls, the Phil Jackson squad looks promising these days. However, the New York Knicks have yet to stop signing NBA All-Stars as a Blake Griffin trade is said to be almost done this offseason.

The Los Angeles Clippers barely got their money's worth for Blake Griffin in the 2015-16 NBA season. Initially, the Doc Rivers squad looked into beating the Golden State Warriors as kings of the Western Conference - a dream that would have had them face LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. However, the Los Angeles Clippers quickly slid in the rankings when Blake Griffin got injured and then suspended. Needless to say, the teamup of DeAndre Jordan, Chris Paul and Paul Pierce barely scratched the surface of the offense courtesy of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

Given the lucrative contract of the power forward with the Los Angeles Clippers, fans are now clamoring for a Blake Griffin trade. Giving up the big man would free up a salary cap space for the DeAndre Jordan squad. While they lost the Kevin Durant free agency bid, the Los Angeles Clippers are still hoping that a bigger fish might come along by 2017 - one they might be able to nab with a huge offer: Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors fame.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks still need a number of stars to strengthen their roster. Although the entry of Kristaps Porzingis in the Carmelo Anthony team had been promising, a veteran player in the position might be able to provide better chances for the Derrick Rose squad to reach the NBA playoffs. As for the Latvian star, he admitted himself that he still needs to work on a lot of things in the next years.

"Everybody wants to see me play better in the post, that's one thing that's going to help us in the triangle so I'm adding moves to my post game," shared Kristaps Porzingis of his plans this NBA offseason. The New York Knicks second-year star added, "I'm really working on staying low [on drives]. I'm working on my strength, especially my legs. That's going to help me defensively as well."

At the moment, the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers and Blake Griffin have yet to comment on this NBA trade rumor. While no official confirmation has been given, fans are excited to see the possibility of adding the NBA All-Star in the roster. Will he be able to truly help Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony, Joakim Noah and Kristaps Porzingis?
