The New York Knicks are in the process of rebuilding their team. With the addition of Kristaps Porzingis, the NBA team has substantially improved from its performance last season. Moreover, the team greatly benefited from the gradual growth of Carmelo Anthony in terms of making more plays and trusting his teammates. However, it looks like the New York Knicks will need more than just two stars pushing for their success.

With this in mind, the New York Knicks is reportedly searching for NBA stars to fill in a huge role in the roster. Reports disclosed that the basketball squad is looking for a third man to form the Big Three of the team. That is, Anthony and Porzingis still needs another member to finally execute the triangle used by Derek Fisher. Among the potential players to fill in this role is Jeff Teague.

The Atlanta Hawks star has been one of the most widely speculated stars this season. Teague's name keeps cropping up in NBA trade stories, with teams like the Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings reportedly taking interest. However, sports analysts believe that the New York Knicks will be the best landing spot for Teague.

"That is because the Knicks are running a modified triangle offense under coach Derek Fisher, with veteran scorer Carmelo Anthony and rookie Kristaps Porzingis carrying the load on offense while the third go-to guy has been a rotation between Langston Galloway, Arron Afflalo and Derrick Williams, among others," pointed out Josh Benjamin of Forbes.

He added, "The system requires a consistent three-headed monster that we saw Jackson execute well with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum recently with the Los Angeles Lakers and, with the Chicago Bulls, with Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and a mix of everyone from Toni Kukoc to Steve Kerr."

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks reportedly offer Jose Calderon in exchange for Teague. Since the Porzingis team needs a reliable and effective point guard, the addition of Teague would be a substantial boost to the team. Moreover, sports analysts claim that Calderon has not been contributing enough to the Derek Fisher squad, thereby making him expendable.

"We'll talk in the next few weeks," commented Calderon via Newsday of the NBA trade rumors. He added, "It's what it is. I'm used to it. Like I always say, we don't know what's going to happen. I'm really happy where I am right now, with the role I have, the way we're building something here and how the team is playing. But you're always one call away from something changing."
