The Dallas Cowboys are undergoing a rebuilding phase with the entry of two promising rookies in the Tony Romo team. However, reports are claiming that Dak Prescott is turning out to be a disappointment. Meanwhile, the Dez Bryant squad is expecting Ezekiel Elliot to achieve the same level of fame and skill as former teammate DeMarco Murray, who is now with the Tennessee Titans and is mentoring Derrick Henry.

The entry of Dak Prescott in the Dallas Cowboys roster had fans shaking their heads as Jerry Jones once again chose a football star who has the potential to bring problems to the team off the gridiron. While the rest of the NFL community now prepares for training camp, the former Mississippi State star gears up for his courtroom hearing. Earlier this year, the rookie quarterback was charged with DUI offense - a concern that fans fear will turn him into the next Johnny Manziel of the NFL.

"I want to make a statement, and first take complete responsibility for my actions," shared Prescott in a statement following the scandal. The Dallas Cowboys star added, "I'm very remorseful for my misjudgment. I want to apologize to my true supporters, my family, Mississippi State University, the NFL, and the kids who look up to me. I won't ask for forgiveness; however, I'll show the true man I am and exhibit my character through my actions and behavior moving forward."

In addition to his off-gridiron issues, the rookie appears to still be struggling to keep up with the NFL team. Rumors are rife that Dak Prescott has yet to impress Tony Romo or Dez Bryant in the workouts. Does this mean that Jerry Jones wasted his draft pick in a football star destined to become a bust?

It depends. At the moment, the young quarterback is still learning the ropes of the NFL. While he has yet to overcome the legal battle he is supposed to face on July 20, it looks like Dak Prescott is eager to improve his skills in the gridiron. Moreover, the Mississippi State star appears to seek the wisdom and experience of the Dallas Cowboys stars to help his growth in the NFL.

"More I guess you would say is the speed and the professionalism. Those guys aren't out there getting hollered at or made to do anything," said Prescott of his Dallas Cowboys teammates. He added, "They're just out there because they love the game. They're passionate. They're so fast, and it's fun. It's just a great level, and it's the best of all. I think I've got myself in a good position with the playbook and learning everything. Getting accustomed to the NFL offense and how the NFL operates, and just being around those great teammates of mine. It's been fun."

Meanwhile, sources claim that the Dallas Cowboys are pressing Ezekiel Elliot to step up his game and show off his potential right away. While the rookie running back is still in the adjustment phase of his NFL career, the Dez Bryant squad is reportedly already pushing him to become the next DeMarco Murray.

"I think Elliott's the one under pressure because there always is expectations for the Dallas Cowboys. But on top of that, Cowboy fans wanted this guy," noted Jamie Dukes. The former Atlanta Falcons star added, "They have always been looking for the next Emmitt Smith. They know they got their quarterback. They know they have a wide receiver in Dez Bryant who is wearing No. 88 like our 88. They need that one guy. They believe this is the guy."
