The Dallas Cowboys signed remarkable rookies in the NFL draft, with Ezekiel Elliot and Dak Prescott pegged as formidable reinforcements in the Tony Romo roster. However, Jerry Jones appears to still be hankering over a particular rookie - Joey Bosa. The Ohio State star was drafted by the San Diego Chargers. If speculations are to be believed, Bosa may not be with the NFL team for long. Reports are circulating that Jones has yet to give up on his dream of signing the defensive end as the replacement for Greg Hardy and a trade might make this possible soon.
Prior to the actual NFL draft day, the Dallas Cowboys had been quite open with the possibility of signing Joey Bosa. Despite the rookie's suspension during his stint with Ohio State, Jerry Jones remained adamant in his admiration for the football star - an attitude that prompted fans to recall the Dallas Cowboys owner's fascination with Johnny Manziel. However, Bosa was not meant to play alongside Dez Bryant and Tony Romo. At the moment, the San Diego Chargers are celebrating what they clearly feel to be one of the best draft picks they made in a very long time.
"It didn't take long to figure out the guy we wanted to get," shared Mike McCoy of Bosa. The San Diego Chargers head coach added, "Any time you turned on Ohio State football -- it didn't matter if you were watching one of their players on defense or an opponent on the offensive side of the football -- he was on tape often. [He was] wreaking havoc, making plays, getting after the quarterback, putting pressure on the quarterback, running to the football and playing the way we want to play football here."
Needless to say, the San Diego Chargers are not letting go of Joey Bosa anytime soon. However, there remains a possibility that Jerry Jones can maneuver a trade. Hence, fans of the Dallas Cowboys need not lose hope over the idea of Joey Bosa donning the blue and white uniform in the future.
Meanwhile, the Ohio State star is reportedly pitted against one of the best NFL stars today - JJ Watt. The Houston Texans leader, who is recognized as one of the most remarkable men in the gridiron, allegedly found a match in the form of the rookie. In fact, some reports even dubbed Bosa as Watt 2.0.
"He's obviously one of the best defenders in the league," shared Bosa of Watt. The San Diego Chargers star added, "That's obviously my goal, to come in and have an impact like that. I'm going to do anything I can to help the team win."
Does this mean a potential feud between the two NFL stars soon? Will the Joey Bosa vs JJ Watt comparison be as widely discussed as the quarterback face-offs such as the Peyton Manning vs Tom Brady and Russell Wilson vs Andrew Luck matchups?
