The blossoming romance between the Dallas Cowboys and Joey Bosa might come into fruition soon as the NFL draft season starts soon. Although the Ohio State star has been plagued by attitude concerns in the past, it looks like the Tony Romo team chooses to overlook his character problems and focus solely on his talent. That is, Jerry Jones appears to be applying the same principle he used when he signed Greg Hardy and caused him to be linked to Johnny Manziel - talent above everything else.
Bosa has been pegged to be in the top 10 picks in the upcoming NFL draft. Among the football teams, the Dallas Cowboys have been the most vocal about their desire to sign the defensive end. In fact, owner Jones even assured Bosa and his fans that the suspension issues are of no consequence to the Dallas Cowboys. Does this mean Tony Romo and Dez Bryant will have another 'bad boy' defensive end in the squad?
"It would be a great place to end up," commented Bosa of the Dallas Cowboys. He added, "I feel like I'd fit really well. They're missing two guys for four games, maybe more, I'm not exactly sure. I feel like that would be a great fit for me."
The Ohio State NFL hopeful also shared that the rumors surrounding him and his future in professional football have been affecting him. However, the words of encouragement from Jones provided him with the inspiration to keep moving forward and focus on the upcoming NFL draft.
He said, "It's nice because there are so many rumors and so much nonsense out in the media that you don't even know where it comes from. You just hear this stuff and you're like what are these people talking about." Bosa added, "To actually get to talk to people and people get to know you and actually learn about you and who you are and learn about your character instead of just reading something on Twitter. It's really nice to get to go sell yourself to these teams. Yeah, it means a lot that he said that."
While Bosa and the Dallas Cowboys appear to be a match made in heaven, some sports analysts believe that the NFL team must be wary of the limitations of the defensive end. A particular concern for the experts is the speed of the Ohio State star. While Bosa can be quite physical and is capable of dominating or overpowering the opponents due to his strong hands, he lacks the swiftness of DeMarcus Ware. This would be problematic for a team that heavily relies on their sack leaders.
Meanwhile, it appears that the Dallas Cowboys' dreams of signing Johnny Football will be postponed a bit longer. In the recent update on Manziel, the former Cleveland Browns star has been mandated by the court to appear for trial on May 5. To ensure his attendance, ESPN reports that a $1,500 bond is meted against Johnny Football.
