The Green Bay Packers had a disappointing run this season. While Aaron Rodgers attempted to give the NFL season his all, a one-man team proved insufficient in a Super Bowl run. Moreover, the Green Bay Packers quarterback struggled with injuries. However, another problematic concern arose this season.

The growth of Eddie Lacy in terms of size and weight posed a huge concern for the Green Bay Packers. Widely known for his agility and stamina, the running back has been well-documented to be the secret weapon of the NFL team. In fact, Lacy garnered almost all Rookie of the Year awards in 2013. He was also listed as part of the Pro Bowl team in the same year. His fame, however, appears to have fizzled in 2015-16 NFL season.

"Eddie Lacy, he's got a lot of work to do," said Mike McCarthy, according to AL.com. The Green Bay Packers head coach added, "I think I'm stating the obvious. His offseason last year was not good enough, and he never recovered from it. I had a chance to talk to Eddie today, and that was pretty much the majority of our whole conversation. He has to get it done because he cannot play at the weight that he played at this year."

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport disclosed that the running back is expected to lose weight before the next season begins. Sources claim that the Green Bay Packers want Lacy to target roughly 30 pounds of weight loss. Rapoport noted that the football star is amenable to these demands and is "committed" to shed the extra pounds as quickly as possible. The decision to finally address the need for Lacy's weight loss was made following discussions with the running back's reps and the execs from the Green Bay Packers.

The news of Lacy's weight loss goal eventually hit the newsstands, with fitness expert Tony Horton offering to help the Green Packers running back get back into shape. Horton is a professional trainer, former actor and author. He is the creator of the exercise regimen called P90X.

"The Packers will get him [Lacy] ready for the season," commented Horton when asked of Lacy's weight loss goal, according to TMZ Sports. "My job will be to get the weight off and help him eat better."

The P90X program is a "complete 90-day home fitness system designed to get you in the best shape of your life."

Its website further stated, "Created by trainer Tony Horton, the program includes 12 intense workouts that use resistance and body-weight training, cardio, plyometrics, ab work, martial arts and yoga, along with a nutrition plan, fitness guide and workout calendar."
