The arrival of Drew Bees in the New Orleans Saints locker room marked a remarkable turn for the NFL team. Amid the challenges the football squad faced, the quarterback remained a steadfast leader of the group. Moreover, Bees turned himself into a notable member of the community - one that has been devastated by natural disasters in the past. Hence, it comes as no surprise that the beloved quarterback is backed by the entire New Orleans football community.

At this point, the NFL community awaits the details of the discussions between Bees and the New Orleans Saints. If the rumor mill is to be believed, then the prized quarterback will be able to end his football career with his current NFL team. Bees began his reign in the New Orleans Saints in 2012 when he agreed to a five-year deal worth $100 million. With the final year of his contract coming up, the terms have to be renegotiated especially in light of the salary-cap costs.

"I've got, obviously, a very strong relationship with the Saints," shared Brees in response to a question regarding his stint with the NFL team. The quarterback added, "So talks are ongoing, and I don't know if that is something that will be done next week or before the end of the year or next year or when. But obviously, I want to be a Saint for the rest of my career, and I think I've got a lot of good years left."

Over the years, Bees has been regarded as the best free agent any NFL team has ever signed. Most sports analysts believe that the quarterback has not only brought about a revolution in the New Orleans Saints locker room but also in the entire state.

"I don't think it's possible to have a better free-agent signing than New Orleans and Drew Brees," noted Bernie Miklasz. The ex St. Louis Post-Dispatch expert added, "In a quarterback-driven league, the Saints not only recruited a prolific passer, a team leader and a champion -- they also brought in a community-minded athlete who stood front and center in the aftermath of Katrina. Brees has been there for New Orleans in every way. How can you possibly top that combination?"

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints also locked in another key component in their system - Sean Payton. The working relationship of Payton and Bees has been known as one of the most widely successful tandems in the NFL. Both complement the other, leaving very little room for spat and locker room drama. Moreover, Payton shares the same level of love and respect for the New Orleans Saints as that by Bees.

"There's so much of you in there, that I don't see myself working anywhere else," revealed Payton. He added, "There's been really good stability and consistency at ownership. We just had dinner with Mr. B. last night, Mickey, and I think that doesn't guarantee anything, but it gives you a chance. It's been very functional. That stability, obviously, I don't take for granted."

Unlike Bees, the contract with Payton is now finalized. As of this writing, the New Orleans head coach will be with the NFL team until the 2020 season. His extension, which totals to five more years with the football squad, is worth an additional $45 million. With this extension, Payton secured his spot as one of the highest paid coaches in the NFL today.
