Tom Clancy's the Division Release Date Update for Xbox One, PS4 and PC: You Will Definitely Play It by End of 2015

Tom Clancy's The Division
Beta version to be released in January 2016.

Fans have long awaited the release of Tom Clancy's The Division from Ubisoft for a long while now, and the game has actually won several awards at last year's E3.  However, there still hasn't been an official release date yet, but a recent Q and A has revealed a release date of sometime in 2015.

Design and Trend reports that a recent Facebook and fan Q and A has confirmed a definite release date for Tom Clancy's The Division on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC for sometime in 2015

Several fans also asked if there is going to be some kind of zombie presence.  Considering that the game takes place in a post-apocalyptic environment, the presence of infected people actually makes a lot of sense.  However, the development team has stated that "it won't be sullen enough to include zombies".

Personally, I think this will make the game more sullen as it looks like any enemies that you will have to kill won't be mindless drones, but rather people who are antagonistic and have free will.  The game has promised that factions of people have arisen, which means that some people are taking as much as they can for themselves, like Negan from The Walking Dead comic and possibly in this season of the popular TV series.  I wonder if players will have to kill enemies who are just trying to make a living.  This certainly opens up a lot of possibilities with this game.

That certainly would make the game darker in tone, and there is actually going to be a gameplay feature known as "the Dark Zone".  The creator, Antoine Emond, calls this his favorite new feature, but doesn't go into detail on what exactly it is.

The Q and A chat was spoken in generalities from the development team.  It is possible that they do not wish to reveal too many secrets, but they did talk about the usefulness of the title playing in New York, and how it conveys the story of the game.  Getting the details right on such a recognizable setting is just one of the reasons why the game has been delayed so much.

Venture Capital Post reports that Tom Clancy's The Division is already available for online advance orders, and PS4 users can grab their own copies of the highly anticipated game online but there is no confirmed UK release date.

Unfortunately, if you click on any one of the Amazon pre-order sites, like the one for the PC, it will tell you that the item will be released on December 31, 2015.  The News site for Tom Clancy's The Division doesn't confirm that date, and the release date is usually displayed quite prominently on most official sites devoted to a specific game.  The release date of December 31st  2015 is often just a filler until the game actually gets a formal set release date, and usually means that the company has promised the game to be released "sometime in 2015".  For example, the long-awaited Final Fantasy XV has the exact same release date on its Amazon pre-order page.

In addition to the excellent gameplay and story, Tom Clancy's The Division includes "revolutionary companion gaming".  This enables the play to join friends in real-time gameplay with exclusive characters on a smartphone or tablet.  This application allows the player to have a bird's-eye view of the battlefield, giving him or her ability to attack enemies as well as place targets for allies.  I'm not certain if the "revolutionary companion gaming" is a first for Tom Clancy's The Division, but it certainly sounds like something that could be a new gaming standard.

According to IGN, Tom Clancy's The Division takes place in New York three weeks after a lethal virus is released on Black Friday.  Society falls and the President activates The Division, a top-secret unit of self-supporting tactical agents.  Division agents are trained to operate independently of command, and players will delve into the world of fallen New York City, which has been overrun by clans willing to do anything to survive.  The gameplay involves exploring through New York through very familiar landmarks, and there will be a lot of third-party shooting.

This would be the first time that Tom Clancy has tackled anything in the post-apocalyptic genre, which is quite common in most video games and other science fiction franchises.  Tom Clancy, an author who passed away on October 1, 2013.  He left behind a legacy of novels that are most famous for introducing the now iconic character of Jack Ryan.  In addition to his book contributions, he has inspired a video game series known as Rainbow Six, about an counter-terrorist unit focusing on teamplay and realism.  There is another video game in that franchise which is pending release known as Rainbow Six Siege, and it also has an unknown release date.

It is possible that Tom Clancy's The Division could make an appearance at E3 2015.  If that is the case, then perhaps the game could have a possible holiday release, which is a good time for games to be released.
